Auf Wiedersehen Pet!

I've been catching up with one of my favourite shows, "Auf Wiedersehen Pet", on Yesterday channel. I caught the show at just the right time, aged 20, and it really burrowed it's way into my heart. That said I've been stirred to create an illustration based on the Magnificent Seven. Here are the first rough sketches for Oz, Dennis and Neville. More to follow soon.

We're Gonna Need A Witter Boat!!

Having not posted an original drawing for a while, I thought I'd share with you a work in progress.
As a founder member of the Church of Wittertainment's Cartoonists Corner, I have drawn Mark & Simon many, many times. This latest piece, in it's rough form, sees Mark arguing the toss over the maestro's brilliant SHARK picture (with the great man himself) while Simon warns of Bruce's imminent arrival. A nod, and a debt of thanks, to the great Roger Kastel, poster artist extraordinaire, for the layout. Hope to have it done in a week or so.

NUFC: We Are United

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TX6YSvoHT18

This is a documentary created by my son Tom, with a little help from me, that details Newcastle United's run in to promotion from the championship last season.

I'm always acutely aware that Tom's devotion to NUFC is my fault. He was indoctrinated in the ways of the club, by me, at a very early age. He supported the BW even though, living in the South East of England, he was the only Toon fan in the entire school most of the time. That takes courage and dedication, sadly (having supported NUFC since 1972) my "courage & dedication" has undergone several collapses along the way. Tom is goodly enough to let me borrow his strength and belief when mine fails...and for that I thank him.
He poured every ounce of that spirit into this documentary. It is made with love and care...and is dedicated to every single Toon fan, wherever they may be, to acknowledge that, whilst supporting Newcastle can be a bleak, soul destroying slog most of the time, there are occasions when it lifts your spirit so very, very high that you wonder why you ever doubted them.
Hope you enjoy it.
